Josie Gilvin holds the record for most steals in a single KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16 tournament

We’ve already talked about how Kentucky signee Josie Gilvin is more than a simple 3-and-D player, but defense is certainly a big part of her game. A lot of the time, you don’t really see players develop that defensive ability until they get to college, but Gilvin has had the clamps since her days at Sacred Heart in Louisville.
In fact, when Gilvin was a junior, she set the record for the most steals in a single KHSAA Girls’ Sweet 16 tournament, according to UK Athletics. She recorded 27 of them en route to a state championship.

That season, the 6-foot guard averaged 9.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game on 46.2% shooting from the field. As a senior, she would put up 7.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. In the Sweet 16 as a senior, she tallied a tournament-best 3.0 steals per game.
Perhaps Gilvin can set another steals record, this time a Cat.
