Jovon Bouknight Demoted, Scott Woodward Now UK Wide Receivers Coach
Kentucky has shaken up the coaching staff one final time before the start of the 2021 season. Scott Woodward is now officially Kentucky’s wide receivers coach, replacing Jovon Bouknight after one season. Bouknight remains on staff as a quality control analyst.
Bouknight was suspended this summer following a drunk driving arrest in northern Kentucky. He pleaded guilty to two charges, driving at least 26 miles over the speed limit and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle. Bouknight avoided a DUI conviction for refusing to submit to a sobriety test.
Bouknight’s replacement has a lengthy history with offensive coordinator Liam Coen. Scott Woodward was Coen’s back-up quarterback at UMass. He has been coaching college football since 2010. Woodward spent five seasons at his alma mater in Amherst and was most recently a quality control analyst for Pittsburgh.
Kentucky has now had four different wide receiver coaches in the last five seasons.
