JQ Hardaway, Cincinnati Cornerback, Transfers to Kentucky
Kentucky had a need for cornerbacks in the 2023 recruiting cycle. That became even bigger after Carrington Valentine declared for the NFL Draft on Thursday. The Wildcats did not even have to wait a full day for a much-needed addition.
Cincinnati cornerback JQ Hardaway committed to the Cats on Thursday afternoon.
Hardaway entered the transfer portal on Nov. 27 after Luke Fickell’s move to Wisconsin was announced. Kentucky worked swiftly and got the Phenix City (Ala.) Central prospect on campus over the weekend. It appears that the visit went very well as Hardaway has become the third transfer to commit to the Wildcats in the last week following announcements for Tanner Bowles and Marques Cox.

A four-star recruit in the class of 2022, Hardaway chose Cincinnati despite having multiple SEC offers. A cornerback with great size (6-3, 200), Hardaway played 95 defensive snaps for the Bearcats this fall recording seven tackles and two tackles loss.
The transfer will be a true sophomore in 2023 and has three years of eligibility remaining. Expect JQ Hardaway to enroll at the University of Kentucky for the spring semester and compete for a starting position in spring camp.
Recruiting never stops.
