Randle injured the foot in high school, and in the weeks leading up to the draft, the screw dominated draft talk, with several teams concerned that it may need to be replaced. The debate may have caused Julius to slip to #7 in the draft, although the Lakers ultimately determined that Julius didn't need an operation to fix it. Well, it turns out Julius will have the operation after all. Randle broke his right leg in his NBA debut and will be out for the season anyways, so the Lakers announced that he will undergo surgery tomorrow morning to replace the screw. He's expected to make a full recovery. Might as well, right?
