LOOK: Justin Edwards arrives on Kentucky's campus
Another five-star freshman has made it to campus. Justin Edwards, the highest-ranked of Kentucky’s quintet of rookies in the On3 Industry Rankings, arrived in Lexington this morning. Kentucky’s social media team shared a picture and video of the Philadelphia native being greeted by fellow freshman Reed Sheppard and associate coach Orlando Antigua.
Edwards was recently named Pennsylvania Mr. Basketball after leading his Imhotep Charter Panthers to their ninth state championship since 2009. He averaged 17.9 points and 7.5 rebounds as a senior and was named to the McDonald’s All-American Game, the Nike Hoop Summit, and the Iverson Roundball Classic. He was also a SLAM High School All-American alongside fellow Kentucky signee DJ Wagner.

Speaking of Wagner, he’s the only freshman yet to arrive on campus. Reed Sheppard was the first, moving in last Wednesday. Five-star guard Rob Dillingham and big man Aaron Bradshaw followed suit on Friday. Wagner is expected later this week. Over the weekend, he attended his prom with fellow high school hoops star Juju Watkins, the National Gatorade Player of the Year who will play for USC this fall. Talk about a power couple.
Currently, the players are hosting a satellite camp at Campbell County High School. It’s the fifth stop of the satellite camp tour, where boys and girls ages 7 to 17 get hands-on instruction from the Cats, along with memories to last a lifetime. Tomorrow, the team will be in Jackson (Jackson City HS), Wednesday in Crestwood (South Oldham HS), and Thursday in Vanceburg (Lewis County HS). The first John Calipari Father-Son Camp starts Friday and Summer Session at UK begins on June 13.
