One SEC program is less than 24 hours away from landing the services of a 6-foot-7 five-star wing.

On Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. EST, the No. 9 overall On3 Consensus prospect from the class of 2023, Justin Edwards, will announce his college decision live on CBS Sports HQ. Edwards is down to just two options: Kentucky and Tennessee. This past week, the Philadelphia, PA product finished up the last AAU summer of his high school career with Team Final at the 2022 Nike Peach Jam Invitational in North Augusta, SC.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari, along with assistants Chin Coleman and KT Turner, were in attendance to watch Edwards play throughout the week.

Suiting up with Team Final, Edwards was one of the stars at Peach Jam. He led his squad to a 3-3 record, averaging 15.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals with 1.7 turnovers per conest while shooting 42.9 percent overall from the floor. Edwards’ best outing was a 24-point, 10-rebound, four-steal effort on 8-14 shooting in a 73-70 loss to KJ Evans and Team Durant on Friday.

Following his second game on Monday — a tightly-contested 61-58 victory over Kentucky commit Robert Dillingham and Team CP3 — Edwards briefly spoke with KSR to discuss his upcoming decision.

“I feel like I know where I want to go so there’s no need to wait. So might as well just get to it,” Edwards told KSR.

Calipari has assumed the lead role in Edwards recruitment as of late, which has led to a shift in predictions preferring the ‘Cats. With one day until his announcement, a total of 12 projections across On3, 247Sports, and Rivals have been logged since July 12 in favor of UK.

“It’s Coach Calipari, so if he’s reaching out to you more than all the other coaches, it must mean something, so that’s a big thing to me,” Edwards said.
