Justin Edwards will begin official visit to Kentucky on Thursday

Another five-star visitor will be in town this weekend. Justin Edwards, a top-10 class of 2023 small forward, will arrive in Lexington on Thursday and will attend Kentucky’s matchup on Friday night against the Ohio Bobcats. The 6-foot-7 wing has been hearing from Wildcat head coach John Calipari and assistant Orlando Antigua regularly over the last few months as the two sides build a relationship.
News of Edwards’ weekend visit to UK first broke at the beginning of Novemeber. He does not currently have an offer from the ‘Cats. However, considering Calipari’s track record this season with official visitors, that could change come Sunday.
Over the past several weeks, Calipari has offered class of 2023 five-stars D.J. Wagner, Mackenzie Mgbako, J.J. Taylor, Mookie Cook, Kwame Evans Jr., and Robert Dillingham. Four-star Kentucky native Reed Sheppard has also hauled in a UK offer and will announce his decision this Saturday. Every single one of them has been on UK’s campus since the beginning of October.
Edwards looks to be next in line for a scholarship.
Kentucky a “dream school”
Edwards has seen a significant rise in his national ranking thanks to an impressive summer performance for Team Final in the EYBL circuit. The Imhotep Charter Institute (PA) product went from holding just three Power 5 offers in 2020 to 20-plus in 2021. Kentucky has always been a program that Edwards is fond of.

“He’s loved Kentucky since he was a little kid,” Edwards’ head coach Andre Nobel told KSR. “The level of interest and Coach Cal coming to his high school, and sitting there and talking to him about ball and life–because that’s a big part of Coach Cal’s pitch is life.
“Not even basketball, it’s life – from a school that (is a) dream school, a school that he’s loved ever since he was a little kid; it’s cool for a kid who’s done things the right way.”
Come on down, Justin.
