Kam Mikell is sticking to commitment timeline

Statesboro (Ga.) High wide receiver/cornerback Kam Mikell is a wanted prospect in the class of 2024. The two-way playmaker has Georgia’s full attention. However, the Peach State native is committed to taking his time with the recruiting process.
Before the dead period started in August, Mikell got one final unofficial visit in with Texas A&M. That led to him scheduling an official visit with the Aggies in October. The blue-chip prospect also has fall official visits scheduled with Colorado, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Despite a big push from Kirby Smart‘s program, Mikell is staying patient with the recruiting process.
“They’ve been talking to me a lot more,” Kam Mikell told On3’s Jeremy Johnson this week. “Nothing has really been different since they’ve been recruiting me forever. They’ve wanted to talk more about me changing my decision time and I’m not really (interested in) that. How I look at it is, even if I commit, they’ll still be recruiting me and I don’t really feel ready to commit yet.”

Kentucky is recruiting Mikell to play wide receiver in Lexington and that is a different pitch from the other schools in the mix. The high four-star prospect is a high-level track athlete, a starting guard on his high school basketball team, and a multi-purpose athlete on the gridiron spending some time at quarterback, tailback, and wide receiver.
The Wildcats could use a strong fall close on the high school recruiting trail. Kam Mikell is a very important target. With an official visit on the schedule for Week 2, UK will look to make a big impression on a recruit that is willing to take his time with the recruiting process.
