Karl-Anthony Towns scores Minnesota franchise record SIXTY (!!!) points
Former Kentucky star Karl-Anthony Towns has set the franchise single-game scoring record for the Minnesota Timberwolves, putting up 60 points in a win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
Defeating the Spurs by a final score of 149-139, Towns finished with 60 points on 19-31 shooting and 7-11 from three to go with 17 rebounds in 36 minutes. He joins Shaquille O’Neal and Wilt Chamberlain as the only centers in NBA history with 60 points and 15 rebounds in a single game. It’s the first 60-point game in an NBA game since April 30, 2021 (Jayson Tatum).

He had 32 points in the 3rd quarter alone, the fourth-most points in a single quarter over the last 25 seasons, behind only Klay Thompson (37), Kevin Love (34) and Carmelo Anthony (33).

Towns wasn’t the only former Wildcat to put on a show in the head-to-head matchup. In fact, Keldon Johnson put up a career-high 34 points on 13-21 shooting and 5-9 from three to go with eight rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes.
