Karmello English heads to Michigan this weekend following Auburn visit

Next weekend, Karmello English will make his college decision, which will come down to the likes of Auburn, Michigan, or the Kentucky Wildcats. He plans to make his announcement on Saturday, July 2.
English is a four-star wide receiver out of Phenix City, AL considered a top 130 prospect from the ’23 class, per the On3 Consensus. He was in Lexington for an official visit earlier in June and is near the very top of Kentucky’s Big Board. English is the type of immediate-impact recruit who can headline an entire class.
The competition is incredibly stiff, though.
Auburn appears to have the inside track on his recruitment following an official visit to the Tigers’ campus this week. He arrived on Monday with his family and left on Wednesday. The trip apparently went very well.
“It went great, even better than I expected,” English told Auburn Live’s Jeffrey Lee. “I learned more stuff about Auburn than I already knew. I even talked to the equipment manager more than I’ve ever talked to an equipment manager.”

English will take a day to himself before hitting the road again for his final official visit to Michigan, which begins on Friday. It will be his first trip to check out the Wolverines. Once he finishes that, the plan is to return home, talk it over, and make a decision the following weekend.
Considering Kentucky was the first stop of English’s three visits, the staff won’t be able to get the final word in, which could work against them as Auburn trends as the favortie. If you’re looking for a potentially optimistic angle though, we’ll note that he was on his visit to UK when he announced he would commit on July 2.
