Karmello English is the middle of a tug-of-war between two schools, Kentucky and Auburn. The Wildcats are striking first. This weekend Kentucky will receive his first official visit. The talented wide receiver confirmed his upcoming plans Thursday afternoon on social media.

This will not be English’s first trip to Lexington. He shared the following highly produced video from his most recent unofficial visit to Kentucky in April.

One of the top 25 wide receivers in America, English is a four-star prospect from Phenix City, Al. The 5-foot-11 speedster is the No. 130 player in the 2023 recruiting class according to the the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Even though he will be in Lexington this weekend, folks around Auburn University are awfully confident the Tigers will ultimately land Karmello English. Yesterday On3’s Auburn Live added a new recruiting reporter to the beat, Keith Niebuhr. His first order of business was placing an RPM prediction for English to Auburn.

“The chatter among some other touted prospects in his area is that Auburn is the clear team to beat,” writes Niebuhr. “Alabama, Michigan and Kentucky are some of the other programs believed to be involved.”

A frequent unofficial visit to nearby Auburn, the Tigers hold an overwhelming lead over Kentucky and Alabama in the On3 RPM. This weekend it’s the Kentucky coaching staff’s opportunity to turn the tide in the high profile recruitment of Karmello English. As you can clearly see, he provides everything the Wildcats are looking for in a wide receiver.
