Kellan Grady, Keion Brooks invited to NBA G-League Elite Camp
Last week, we learned that Keion Brooks was invited to the NBA G-League Elite Camp. Turns out another former Kentucky Wildcat will be there with him: Kellan Grady. Brooks and Grady are among the 44 participants in this year’s event, which takes place May 16 and 17 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
The G-League Elite Camp precedes the NBA Draft Combine, which will be held May 18-22 in the same location. The top 60-70 draft prospects are invited to the Combine and the next 44 prospects are invited to the G-League Elite Camp. The camp gives players the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches, and front-office executives by playing in five-on-five games and participating in strength and agility drills. Those who perform the best will be invited to the Combine.

After transferring to Kentucky from Davidson, Grady started all 34 games in the 2021-22 season. He averaged 11.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game and made 88 three-pointers, which ranks eighth all-time on Kentucky’s single-season list. He led the SEC and ranked 15th nationally in three-point field goal percentage (41.7%). On KSR last month, Grady opened up about his plantar fasciitis, which wore on him as the season went on. Since the season ended, he’s seen a specialist for the condition and has been working towards getting back to full strength. The G-League Elite Camp will be a great opportunity for him to prove there’s a place for him at the next level.
In case you missed it on Friday, Grady posted this farewell message to the BBN on social media:
Brooks is currently testing the NBA Draft waters. On April 29, he entered the transfer portal, signaling the end of his career at Kentucky. Over three seasons as a Wildcat, Brooks averaged 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. In 2021-22 he started 33 of Kentucky’s 34 games, scoring in double figures 17 times. He averaged a career-best 10.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field.
