Kelvin Joseph reportedly a person of interest in Dallas murder investigation
The Dallas Cowboys’ Kelvin Joseph is reportedly a person of interest in a homicide investigation. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas police are investigating the former Kentucky cornerback’s connections to an altercation that resulted in the murder of a 20-year-old man last March.
Cameron Ray was shot and killed following a fight on March 18. Fox4 News recently shared surveillance footage of the altercation in an attempt to track down the suspects at-large. The video appears to show Joseph, wearing a “YKDV ” chain, among the group of people in the fight.

Cowboys’ beat reporter Clarence Hill reports Joseph has admitted to being at the scene, but said he was not involved in the shooting. The Cowboys are looking into Joseph’s involvement, but did not share an official comment on the situation. ESPN’s Todd Archer writes the Cowboys are encouraging Joseph to speak with police.
Joseph was a Top 100 recruit out of Baton Rouge that initially signed to play with LSU in 2018. He transferred to Kentucky prior to the transfer portal era, sidelining him for the entirety of the 2019 season. In 2020 he recorded a team-high four interceptions before opting out of the final game of the regular season. He was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 44th overall pick. Limited by injuries at the start of his rookie campaign, Joseph appeared in 10 games, starting in two, to record 16 tackles and two pass deflections.
