Kendrick Gilbert will be making final decision soon
Kentucky is currently working to close on class of 2023 prospects as the end of summer quickly approaches. One of the biggest ones on the recruiting board is defensive lineman Kendrick Gilbert.
The rising senior at Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral is the No. 362 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Kendrick Gilbert is wrapping up his fourth official visit this weekend at Iowa after previous trips to Purdue, Kentucky, and LSU.
The four-star prospect spoke with On3’s Billy Embody to get an update on his current recruitment and where LSU stands. In that interview, Kendrick Gilbert confirmed that he would like to make a decision before the beginning of his senior season.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Gilbert has visited Lexington three times since October, and the campus of the University of Kentucky is just three hours from his home in Indianapolis. At a listed 6-foot-5 with a long reach, this is a prospect that could potentially play multiple positions on Kentucky’s hybrid front.
Kendrick Gilbert appears to be a priority recruit on the defensive line as the Wildcats look to continue to stack four-star players in that room. That final decision should be known soon as Kentucky appears to have a legitimate shot at recruiting a significant commitment in the midwest.
