You may have noticed Kentucky’s offensive line was without a starter today. Senior guard Kenneth Horsey did not play vs. No. 1 Georgia. After the 16-6 loss to the Bulldogs, Mark Stoops said Horsey suffered an undisclosed injury before the game. Stoops didn’t have many details to share but said preliminary tests were good.

“He was [injured]. He had a situation before the game. I’ll address it Monday. Please don’t speculate on anything. All the preliminary tests that we got back seemed to be very positive. I’ll address it when I get more information. I’m glad the preliminary information seems to be okay.”

Sophomore Deondre Buford filled in for Horsey. Stoops said he was pleased with Buford — and the entire offensive line — for their performance vs. one of the best defensive lines in the country. Will Levis was only sacked once for four yards.

“They did [play well]. I thought Deondre stepped up. I heard Eli [Cox] kind of rounding the troops up there, kind of patting him on the back because of his preparation. We didn’t know that Kenneth wouldn’t play — I didn’t know until 20-30 minutes before the game. The way he prepped and the way he stepped in and filled and did a good job, that’s something for all youngsters to build on. All guys that are in a backup role. All of a sudden you’re thrown in and starting against the No. 1 team in the country and it seemed that he played pretty solid.”

Stoops said senior wide receiver Tayvion Robinson was also “banged up” and not 100%. Linebackers Jacquez Jones and DeAndre Square also missed today’s game as they recover from their injuries. Hopefully, they can make it back on the field next week for Senior Day.
