Big news for Kentucky’s Big Blue Wall: Kenneth Horsey will return for a sixth and final year. The senior offensive guard and team captain just shared the news on social media, telling fans he’s coming back for “one more ride.”

“First and foremost, I want to give honor to God who has put me in the position to make a decision like this. He’s blessed me with the platform to turn my pain into passion.

To my village – you’ve been with me every step of the way and I cannot thank you enough. My family, friends, coaches, prayer warriors, all of you. Your love and support has never wavered. I am a representation of you all in every decision I make.

My teammates – being chosen as your captain is one of the highest honors I could receive. The memories I have made here with you have shaped me into the man I am today. I love you all.

In regard to my decision, I would like to officially announce that I will be returning for my SIXTH and final year of eligibility! Along with continuing to pursue my master’s degree, I am more than ready to get back to work and do my part to help this offensive line and this team reach new heights.

One more ride, #BBN! #68Wave”

Horsey has played in 38 career games with 33 starting assignments at Kentucky. This year, he moved from left guard to left tackle to help fill the void left by Dare Rosenthal, who left for the NFL. With former Northern Illinois tackle Marques Cox transferring in, Horsey can move back to guard next season, a much more natural fit. Plus, his leadership and experience will be invaluable as the offense rebuilds following Will Levis and Chris Rodriguez‘s departures.

An open-heart surgery survivor, Horsey was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team in 2021 for his work with the American Heart Association and was one of three winners of the 2020 Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2020.

Welcome back, Kenneth.
