Kenny Brooks discusses just how much love the BBN has shown him since his arrival
Ever since Kenny Brooks arrived at Kentucky, things have been moving fast. As he would describe it, “It’s been a whirlwind”. However, one thing that has helped Brooks slow things down and take a deep breath is the fact that the BBN has rallied behind him, and for good reason.
Brooks has taken a program that won 12 games last season and completely flipped it on its head. The difference between the women’s basketball team from before and after he arrived in Lexington is night and day. Despite a bit of a drought as far as a winning culture goes, Brooks has fans excited for what’s to come.
There has been no shortage of Brooks running into the BBN when he’s out and about, it seems. In his interview with BBN Tonight on Tuesday, Brooks talked about some of his interesting encounters.
“Sometimes I even try to go out incognito, and I’ll put on my glasses, I’ll have my hat on, nothing that says ‘Kentucky’, and people are wanting to take pictures,” Brooks shared. “I had a guy the other day, he was talking to his mom on the phone and he put her on hold so he can take a picture with me, and then got back to his mom.”

He added, “It’s been great. The excitement has been tremendous. Everyone has been very, very friendly to me, my family, to my staff, and then hopefully that’s gonna translate to a lot of people in the stands cheering for us.”
