While the 2024-25 roster is just about to be done, Kenny Brooks is looking to set the foundation for the future. The new Kentucky women’s basketball head coach has already made several offers in the 2026 class, and he added another one on Tuesday.

Four-star class of 2026 prospect Kate Harpring announced on social media that Brooks and the ‘Cats had extended her an offer. The 5-foot-9 guard holds offers from the likes of North Carolina, Ohio State, and Mississippi State, among several others.

Harpring has a scouting grade of 94 from ESPN and is the No. 25 prospect in the sophomore class. She’s been known to elevate her game in key moments and in key games, most notably dropping 45 points in the semifinals of the Georgia 6A postseason tournament.

If that last name happens to sound familiar, that’s because her father, Matt, played several years in the NBA. Most of Matt’s time in the league was on the Jazz. He finished second in the Most Improved Player voting in the 2002-03 season after averaging 17.6 PPG on 41.3% shooting from three-point range.

Matt went to Georgia Tech (and he was 3x All-ACC there, too). Kate has taken multiple visits there as well. The Yellow Jackets are definitely a team to keep an eye on her early in her recruitment.

However, if we’ve learned anything with Kenny Brooks so far, it’s that we should let him cook.
