Joson Sanon, a four-star class of 2025 shooting guard, was in Rupp Arena just a couple of weeks ago to watch Kentucky’s 93-77 win over Vanderbilt on Senior Night. On Wednesday, he committed to the Wildcats — but not the school in Lexington.

Sanon has committed to Arizona and is expected to reclassify to 2024, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. He’ll be able to join Arizona this summer and suit up for the 2024-25 college basketball season. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony was first to break the news.

The 6-foot-5 Sanon out of Vermont is considered the No. 11 overall prospect in On3’s 2025 recruiting class, which will change once he’s officially moved to 2024. He chose Arizona over a final six that also consisted of Kentucky, Kansas, UConn, Boston College, and Overtime Elite.

Sanon took just three official visits before pledging to Arizona. He went on trips to see the Wildcats, Indiana, and Oklahoma State, but only Arizona made his final list cut — and ultimately landed his commitment.

He unofficially visited both UConn and Kentucky over the last couple of months, as well. Sanon’s day trip to Lexington on March 6 was actually a surprise, coming on the heels of a very brief stop with the Louisville Cardinals the same day before heading over to UK.

All that being said, Sanon never publicly announced an offer from Kentucky.

In the 2024 class, the Wildcats have six commits locked in for next season, led by five-star center Jayden Quaintance. This group ranks second in the entire country behind only Duke.
