Kentucky Adds Offensive Quality Control Coach with a Liam Coen Connection
Mark Stoops is currently searching for a new running backs coach. The unexpected departure of Jemal Singleton, which has now been confirmed by UK, is not the only coaching move made inside the Joe Craft Football Training Facility.
Derek Terry of The Cats Pause reports that Scott Woodward has joined Kentucky’s coaching staff as an offensive quality control assistant. Woodward spent the last two seasons as a quality control assistant at Pitt.

Woodward’s connection to UK is through new offensive coordinator Liam Coen. Woodward was Coen’s backup quarterback for four years at UMass. He was also an assistant for the Minutemen from 2015-18.
The quality control position will not allow Woodward to serve as an on-field coaching assistant. The role will give Coen a familiar face to bounce ideas off of when creating game scripts and studying opponents. Woodward’s presence will also put another man in Coen’s corner to help the play-caller get comfortable as the new leader of an SEC offense.
