Kentucky alum Mike Edwards received his Super Bowl ring
Former Kentucky safety Mike Edwards and his Tampa Bay Buccaneer teammates received their Super Bowl rings last night in a private ceremony down in Tampa.
The ring has eight emerald-cut diamonds on each side to represent the franchise-record eight straight wins; nine diamonds on the trophy for the fewest-points allowed in a Super Bowl; and 319 diamonds around the exterior for the game’s 31-9 score. The ring also has a removable top to reveal Raymond James Stadium hand-engraved into the center of the ring.

Each ring is personalized for each champion, and Edwards showed his off on Instagram during the event:
According to sports business reporter Darren Rovell, the players will pay $10,000 in taxes on the championship rings, a price tag Edwards and his teammates are probably willing to pay.
The Buccaneers players have to pay taxes on their champ rings (normally comes to about $10,000). That amount is deducted from their paycheck.
