Kentucky and Murray State Share a Strange Basketball History

Kentucky and Murray State do not share any history together. The two programs have never actually played a game on the court against one another, but their recent history is nearly identical.
Steven Peake was raised as a Kentucky basketball fanatic, but he spent his college years in western Kentucky as a student at Murray State. That is why he was thrilled when the two teams landed in Indianapolis for the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament. They were on a collision course to play in the second round. Then, St. Peter’s happened.
Fate has kept these teams apart. It got the wheels spinning in Peake’s head.
“What if they are the same team, split across two different timelines?”
That’s a real thinker. You might think Peake is crazy, but let him explain what he calls “The Adam Chiles Effect.” Lock in for a wild ride of strange coincidences that have occurred between the two programs over the last 20 years.
