Kentucky and Saint Peter's tied at halftime

That certainly isn’t the way we wanted to start the NCAA Tournament. After one half of play, Kentucky and Saint Peter’s are tied at 37. If that score isn’t indication enough, it’s been a brutal 20 minutes.
Where do you even start? The only thing worse than Kentucky’s offense right now is its defense. The Cats allowed Saint Peter’s to shoot 46.9% from the floor. The Peacocks are led by Daryl Banks III, who has 16 points, including four threes, in 15 minutes. If you had him as “random guy to go off against Kentucky” on your BINGO card, well, at least something’s going right for you.

Oscar Tshiebwe is the only Kentucky player in double figures. He has 12 points on 4-5 from the floor and 4-5 from the free-throw line along with six rebounds. Jacob Toppin came off the bench to infuse the Cats with some energy early and has eight points. Kellan Grady still can’t find his shot, going 0-3 from the outside, but he has five points from the free-throw line. TyTy Washington is 1-3 for two points. He also has two turnovers.
Keep in mind, all of this happened with Saint Peter’s best player, KC Ndefo, on the bench with two fouls. Better second half. Or we’re going home.
