Some voters were more forgiving of Kentucky’s loss at Ole Miss than others. The Cats fell in both polls today. Kentucky is No. 15 in the new AP Poll and No. 18 in the new Coaches Poll. Previously, Kentucky was No. 14 in both.

Despite losing to Florida, Auburn remains the No. 1 team in the AP Poll, followed by Alabama. Florida and Duke are tied at No. 3, with Tennessee coming in at No. 5. The Tigers earned 34 of the first-place votes to Alabama’s 23, Florida’s 3, and Tennessee’s 1. The Crimson Tide is the new No. 1 in the Coaches Poll, followed by Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Duke.

Also from the SEC, Texas A&M is up to No. 8 in the AP Poll, while Ole Miss (No. 19), Missouri (No. 21), and Mississippi State (No. 22) are in the bottom half of the AP Poll. St. John’s is now in the top ten after beating Marquette and UConn.

No. 15 Cats vs. No. 5 Vols tomorrow at Rupp. Let’s do it.

Kentucky in other National Rankings

Most national writers dropped the Cats a few spots for the loss at Ole Miss. On the far outside, Andy Katz has Kentucky No. 30 in his Power Rankings behind Missouri, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. That seems a bit extreme.
