Kentucky moves up to No. 8 in the AP Poll
Kentucky continues to climb the rankings. The new AP Poll is out and the Cats are No. 8, up one spot from last week. This is their highest ranking of the season and comes after the Cats’ dominating 95-76 win over Louisville on Thursday.
Kentucky is not the highest-ranked team in the SEC. Tennessee is No. 6. The Cats face the Vols twice this season. Ole Miss is the only other SEC team in the Top 25, coming in at No. 24. Auburn is the first team receiving votes (121), a group that also includes Texas A&M (9), South Carolina (2), Mississippi State (2), and Alabama (2). Gonzaga, which comes to Rupp Arena on Feb. 10, is No. 13.
