We knew Kentucky’s 20-point loss to Ohio State would cost the Cats in the polls. The new AP Poll is out and Kentucky is No. 10, down six spots from No. 4 a week ago. The Cats are also No. 10 in the new Coaches Poll.

Tennessee remains the No. 1 team in the land, followed by Auburn, Iowa State, Duke, and Alabama. Florida, which comes to Rupp Arena on Jan. 4, is No. 6. There are now ten SEC teams in the Top 25, with Mississippi State and Arkansas entering the fold at Nos. 19 and 23, respectively. Five of those ten teams are in the top ten. Two more, Georgia and Missouri, received votes.

Kentucky is in the midst of a 10-day break. After spending Christmas with their families, the Cats will return to campus on Dec. 26 to start preparing for the game vs. Brown on New Year’s Eve and the SEC opener vs. Florida on Jan. 4.
