Kentucky rises to No. 4 in AP Poll after win over Louisville

Kentucky’s wins over Colgate and Louisville resulted in a slight bump in this week’s AP Poll. The Cats are now No. 4, up one spot from last week.
Tennessee remains the No. 1 team in the country, followed by Auburn, Iowa State, Kentucky, and Duke. The Cats edged out the Blue Devils for the No. 4 spot by just one point. Alabama and Florida are up to No. 6 and No. 7. Eight SEC teams are in the Top 25, with Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Missouri just outside. In fact, only three of the 16 SEC teams did not receive votes in this week’s poll: Vanderbilt, LSU, and South Carolina.
Kentucky is now 10-1, the best start since the 2016-17 season. Because it’s finals week, the Cats won’t be back in action until Saturday when they play Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic in Madison Square Garden. The Buckeyes are coming off an embarrassing 91-53 loss to Auburn, which dropped their record to 6-4.
