At the Half: Kentucky leads Auburn 40-29
Now that was a fun half of basketball. After 20 minutes of play, Kentucky leads Auburn 40-29. The Cats finished the half on an 8-0 run in 1:34 and held the Tigers without a field goal for the last 2:53.
Oscar Tshiebwe already has a double-double, with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Oscar now has 44 double-doubles as a Wildcat, which moves him into third place on UK’s all-time list behind Dan Issel (64) and Cotton Nash (48). Cason Wallace is the next leading scorer, with 11 points, including two threes. Wallace was 0-16 from three in the previous four games, so let’s hope he’s shot himself out of that slump.
Kentucky is shooting 55.6% (15-27) from the field and 83.3% (5-6) from three. Auburn is only 34.4% (11-32) from the floor, 27.3% (3-11) from three. The Cats are outrebounding the Tigers 21-13. Only four Auburn players have scored: Jaylin Williams (10 points), Johni Broome (9), Wendell Green Jr. (6), and Allen Flanigan. Meanwhile, six Cats have scored and nine have played thus far, including CJ Fredrick who returned to the lineup after missing four games with a cracked rib.
Kentucky is 14-0 this season when leading at halftime. Check out more numbers below.
