Kentucky baseball adds another transfer, Texas A&M RHP Robert Hogan
Nick Mingione is making a killing in the transfer portal for the second straight offseason.
On Tuesday afternoon, Kentucky baseball picked up another transfer portal addition when former Texas A&M right-handed pitcher Robert Hogan announced his commitment to the Wildcats. Hogan is the ninth portal pickup for Mingione so far this offseason as the head coach looks to reload Kentucky’s roster after making the program’s second-ever Super Regional appearance this past season.
Hogan announced the news on social media with a thank you letter to Texas A&M.
First, I would like to thank the coaches, staff, teammates, and fans of Texas A&M. The past two years have been such a blessing and have helped me grow as a player, as a student, and in so many other ways. There will always be a special place for #gigem in my heart!
With that being said, I would like to announce that I will finish my college career as a Kentucky Wildcat! To the university, he fans, the coaches, and my teammates at Kentucky, I promise that you will always get all that I can give everyday and every time. God made this possible and I am so thankful for Him for my new home.

Hogan comes to Lexington after spending the last two college seasons with the Aggies. In 18 appearances as a freshman for Texas A&M in 2022, he produced a 3-1 record across 18.1 innings pitched with a 4.91 ERA. The Minnesota native would struggle as a sophomore though, making 15 appearances for a 1-0 record across 8.0 innings with an ERA of 14.63.

The expectation is that Hogan will start out in the bullpen for the Bat ‘Cats. He’s shown plenty of raw talent through his first two seasons and shined in the Northwoods League this summer (2.70 ERA in 20.0 innings pitched for Eau Claire Express), but will need to improve his control in order to make an impact at Kentucky. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.
