After a great weekend of SEC baseball, Kentucky fell just short of a series victory over No. 1 LSU. However, they won Saturday’s game at “The Box”, becoming just the third team in the country to win there this season.

Although they lost the series, Kentucky fell just one spot to No. 13 in D1Baseball‘s latest Top 25 rankings. They remained at No. 12 in Baseball America‘s rankings.

The ‘Cats really had a chance to bolster their resume on Tuesday, but their game at now No. 12 ranked Louisville was postponed. These two will meet on April 25th at Kentucky Proud Park.

The biggest fall in this week’s Top 25 was Tennessee, which completely fell out of the rankings after being swept by No. 5 Arkansas. The preseason No. 2 team in the country now finds itself unranked in mid-April. Kentucky travels to Knoxville for a three-game series on May 12th. Even with Tennessee’s departure, the SEC remains dominant. The conference has six teams in the Top 25, all coming in the top 13, with four in the top five (No. 1 LSU, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Arkansas). Everything conference.
