Busy weekend in Lexington forces Kentucky's Regional opponents to stay in dorms

As we outlined yesterday, it’s going to be a very busy weekend in Lexington. Not only is Kentucky hosting a regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament, the Railbird Music Festival is taking place at the Red Mile and several KHSAA state championships are happening around town. As a result, hotels are sold out, to the extent that you can’t find a room within an hour of Lexington. That makes things a little tough for Kentucky’s opponents in the Lexington Regional, Ball State, West Virginia, and Indiana.
According to Ben Upton, players and coaches for all three teams were informed last night that they’re staying in UK’s dorms. Here is the email they received:


Players can either share 2-room, 4-person suites or convert them to a 2-person suite, while coaches and staff members will get single rooms. Here’s a tour of the rooms at Baldwin Hall to give you an idea of the accommodations:

All-Session Tickets on sale now
The Lexington Regional starts on Friday with Kentucky vs. Ball State at noon and Indiana vs. West Virginia at 7 p.m. All-Session tickets are on sale now at UKBaseballTix.com. Reserved grandstand seats are $90 and general admission is $60. That gets you tickets to every game. Single-session tickets go on sale Thursday at 9 a.m.

- Game 1: Ball State vs. Kentucky (Noon ET | SEC Network)
- Game 2: Indiana vs. West Virginia (7:00 p.m. ET | ESPN+)
Saturday, June 3

Sunday, June 4
- Game 5: Winner Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4 (1:00 p.m. ET | TBD)

Monday, June 5
