Kentucky Baseball Rises to No. 3 in D1Baseball Top 25
The Bat Cats just keep surging.
Kentucky has jumped once again in D1Baseball’s Top 25 Rankings, this time from No. 8 to No. 3. This marks the fourth straight week featuring a positive move forward for the Cats in the polls.
Although Kentucky lost its first midweek game of the season on Tuesday, the Cats completed their third consecutive SEC sweep over the weekend. It took a seven-run comeback on Sunday, but Kentucky improved to 14-1 in conference play.
Kentucky’s 14-1 start to SEC play is the best in program history. The conference record for best start belongs to Tennessee, who started the 2022 season 17-1. The Cats could tie that record with a sweep of the Volunteers at Kentucky Proud Park this weekend.
Eight SEC teams are ranked in this week’s Top 25, featuring the entire top-four. No. 3 Kentucky is joined by No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 2 Arkansas, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 13 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Alabama, No. 20 South Carolina, and No. 24 Georgia.
