See How Kentucky Celebrated the Illinois Win in the Locker Room

Kentucky is taking a W back to Lex. After suffering so much heartbreak and seeing so many Wildcats go down with injuries, jubilation infected all of Big Blue Nation after Kentucky took down Illinois 84-75 to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Wildcats looked like they were cruising to a victory, but things didn’t end on easy street. Kentucky was 2-17 from the field when Andrew Carr delivered a dagger to put the game out of reach. Fouls and replay reviews at the monitor made the final minute last what felt like 15 minutes of real time before it became official. Kerr Kriisa was spotted dancing on the Kentucky sideline.
The postgame celebration went from the floor to the tunnels beneath Fiserv Forum. To say Mark Pope was excited would be an understatement. “Education by fire, boys.”
Pope kicked the celebration into high gear when he saw his team. At first, it looked like he was going to scold the Cats. That’s when the small “Kentucky” placard appeared from around the corner. Brandon Garrison took the reins as the entire team joined in to smack it on the bracket and into the Sweet 16.
