Kentucky basketball managers beat Louisville despite controversial ending
In a preview of what’s to come later tonight, the Kentucky men’s basketball managers beat Louisville’s managers on Wednesday night. But it didn’t happen without a controversial finish.
Kentucky managers walked away with a 74-72 win over Louisville, improving the Wildcats’ record to 4-0 this season. But depending on who you ask, the ending could have gone either way. The Louisville manager’s social media account posted the following after the game: “Odd finish in the Planet Fitness Kueber Center tonight. Guys played hard for 39:58.1.”
As we all know, a basketball game lasts a full 40 minutes. So why did UL purposefully leave out the final 1.9 seconds? Well, that’s where the controversy comes in. As the story goes, the Louisville managers cried for a foul in the final seconds which Kentucky managers are adamant did not happen. The UL managers were upset that they couldn’t get the ball from UK in the final minute and then begged for a mysterious foul call once they finally did. A definitely friendly back-and-forth ensued before the Wildcats were ultimately (and rightfully) awarded the win.

As you can guess, Louisville fans are mad online about how it all played out. It must be tough knowing that’s the closest the program will get to actually beating Kentucky. I would say that I can imagine their pain, but I honestly can’t.
UL fans, don’t expect a tight two-point outcome when the ‘Cats and Cards go head-to-head for real at 6:00 p.m. EST this evening inside the KFC Yum! Center. The only controversy will be how much Kentucky decides to pour it on Louisville.
