WATCH: How the Big Blue Nation went all-in on Mark Pope
Kentucky’s latest search for a new men’s basketball head coach got a lot of attention. For a few days in April, the Big Blue Nation was locked in following all of the scuttlebutt and sourced reports. After Baylor head coach Scott Drew and UConn head coach Dan Hurley turned down the job, some immediate panic set in when Mitch Barnhart pivoted to his next option.
BYU head coach Mark Pope quickly emerged as Kentucky’s top target and the reaction was not pretty. That is hard to believe after everything we’ve seen over the last five-plus months.
KSR’s Steven Peake rewinds the clock in his latest video blog to show us how the Big Blue Nation felt in the aftermath of the hire and how everything changed quickly to create a fan base that is now all-in on the new basketball regime in Lexington.
