Kentucky methodically exerted its force over Troy. It took a little bit of time, but the Cats took care of business in a 76-57 victory over the Trojans in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

It was a tie ballgame with just over seven minutes to play. The Cats went on a 10-0 run before half to gain some breathing room. The kill shot was delivered by Brandon Garrison and Collin Chandler.

The two reserves combined to score 15 points in a 16-0 run that put the game out of reach. Mark Pope put Chandler in cold. It didn’t matter. He made a couple of threes, scoring nine points in five minutes.

Otega Oweh scored the last point in that 16-0 run. It was a mere footnote to his outstanding performance. The sensational shooting guard attacked the rim early and often, finishing with 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Oweh’s dunk in transition provided an exclamation point. Koby Brea brought the dagger. The spectacular shooter sunk 3-6 threes to score 13 points.

It was a cathartic, mostly stress-free win for Big Blue Nation. Now enjoy the victory by reliving the best moments from Kentucky’s first round NCAA Tournament win.
