The voters have spoken. There is a new college basketball AP Poll and the Wildcats are ranked No. 4 in the country on Valentine’s Day.

Kentucky was ranked fifth for two straight weeks. A 24-point loss by Purdue on the road at Michigan made room for the Wildcats to move up one spot.

The Wildcats will face No. 16 Tennessee Tuesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena, then host No. 25 Alabama Saturday at Rupp Arena. They could be without TyTy Washington and Jacob Toppin, who each suffered lower leg injuries last week.

This Saturday a new set of rankings will provide more clarity of where Kentucky stands with less than one month until Selection Sunday. The Selection Committee will reveal the country’s top 16 seeds in the annual Bracket Preview Show, airing on CBS at 12:30 pm ET on Feb. 19. If the Cats can take down Tennessee, they are a lock for a No. 1 seed this Saturday.
