Kentucky stretched a 9-point halftime lead over Albany into a 25-point victory tonight at Rupp Arena. As we do after each game while we wait for John Calipari to take the podium, let’s pull up the box score to find the real keys to victory. Here’s what stands out to me:

  • Five Cats in double figures: TyTy Washington (20), Keion Brooks (17), Sahvir Wheeler (15), Kellan Grady (14), and Oscar Tshiebwe (12).
  • Oscar notched his fourth double-double as a Cat, pulling down 14 rebounds.
  • Brooks and Grady turned in on in the second half, scoring 13 and 11 points after intermission, respectively.
  • Wheeler and Washington played 39 and 38 minutes, respectively.
  • Brooks and Wheeler led the team in efficiency, at +30 and +28.
  • Good: Kentucky shot 54% from the floor (32-59)
  • Bad: Kentucky had 17 turnovers.
  • Good (albeit predictable): Kentucky won the battle of the boards 48-24.
