Kentucky softball closed out their weekend in Atlanta with a 7-4 win against Kennesaw State. It was a solid tournament for the Wildcats, bringing in 43 totals runs across five games. They now sit at a 10-5 record on the season.

Sophomore Standouts

It was all about the sophomore class for Kentucky on Sunday. Peyton Plotts, Delani Sullivan, and Emory Donaldson combined for 6 of the 7 RBIs against Kennesaw State.

Plotts kicked things off with a 2 RBI double over the right fielder’s head in the 1st inning. She has been stellar this season in early innings, getting her team fired up offensively.

Onto the 3rd inning, both Donaldson and Sullivan had RBI doubles for Kentucky. These two fall at the end of the lineup for the Wildcats, but had great offensive performances this weekend.

Plotts continued her day with another RBI double in a clutch moment. Kennesaw State had tied the game in the 3rd inning, up until Plotts put Kentucky back in the lead. She finished the weekend with 7 RBIs, leading the team with 20 RBIs on the season.

Sullivan got her second home run for the season after she launched one in the 5th inning. Sullivan struggled early in the season at the plate, but proved she can be effective with six hits this weekend.
