Kentucky bettor puts $3.1 million on Eagles to beat Panthers this Sunday
One Kentucky bettor is very confident in the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend against the Carolina Panthers.
According to ESPN’s Doug Greenberg and David Purdum, someone in the Bluegrass has placed a whopping $3.1 million on the Eagles to beat the Panthers on Sunday. It’s considered one of the largest bets ever placed on a regular season NFL game. The brave individual used Circa Sports to wager on the Eagles’ money line at -700 odds, which ESPN reports would net $442,800 if it cashes.
The bettor started with a $1 million bet before asking Circa Sports to put down even more coin, eventually reaching the $3.1 million mark. It’s the largest wager the sportsbook has ever accepted. The Eagles are considered a nearly two-touchdown favorite, but this Kentuckian just needs Philly to come out with the win to take home his nearly half-a-million-dollar prize.

Circa Sports responded by moving the Eagles to -870 and lengthening the Panthers’ odds to +650. If Carolina is able to pull off the win, it would be one of the biggest betting upsets of the entire NFL season. The Dallas Cowboys overcame a 10.5-point underdog mark in Week 12 against the Washington Commanders. Philly is currently 10-2 on the season while the Panthers are just 3-9.
That’s a lot of money to put down for what would be a rather small gain. But anyone willing to put down over $3 million on a random regular season game likely has some cash to blow. I’ll be following Eagles-Panthers closely now just to see how it plays out for our fellow Kentuckian.
