We have our first bit of news from Kentucky Basketball’s flood relief telethon. Senior point guard Sahvir Wheeler just took the mic and told the crowd at Rupp Arena that this year’s Blue-White Game will take place in Eastern Kentucky. The date and location are still to be determined, but Wheeler said that it may take place in Pikeville. If that’s the case, Appalachian Wireless Arena can seat approximately 5,700 people for sporting events.

“This year, we’re going to move the Blue-White game to Eastern Kentucky,” Wheeler announced. “We know it’s been a pleasure playing for you guys here but Coach suggested moving it to Pikeville this year.”

Typically, the Blue-White Game takes place at Rupp Arena the Friday following Big Blue Madness, the date for which has not been announced. The weekend of October 21-23 is one to keep an eye on, I’d think.

What a very cool idea for a region that has suffered so much.
