Where does Kentucky stand in Bracketology entering tonight’s game vs. Ole Miss? After three straight losses in Rupp Arena, Kentucky’s projected NCAA Tournament seed is kind of all over the place, to be honest. The Cats are as high as a No. 6 seed in some outlets and as low as a No. 8 seed in others.

With eight games left in the regular season, Kentucky’s NCAA Tournament resume needs work. While the Cats are No. 25 in the latest NET Rankings, they are only 2-5 in Quad 1 and have Quad 2 and 3 losses. If that sounds like a bunch of gobbledegook, simply put, Kentucky hasn’t won enough big games, and home losses to UNC Wilmington and Florida aren’t a great look.

Half of Kentucky’s remaining games are in Quad 1, so there’s time to fluff up that resume before Selection Sunday, but there also isn’t any room for error. The Cats can’t afford any more slip-ups, like tonight vs. Ole Miss in Rupp. Speaking of the Rebels, they are on the bubble right now, meaning tonight’s game is just as important to them, if not more, in terms of resume.

While we continue the long countdown to tipoff, here’s a look at the latest NCAA Tournament projections, starting with everyone’s favorite, Joey Brackets.

ESPN: No. 6 seed

Believe it or not, Joe Lunardi did not punish Kentucky for Saturday’s loss to Gonzaga. The Cats remain a No. 6 seed in today’s update, facing No. 11 seed Grand Canyon in Pittsburgh. A potential showdown vs. Duke looms in the second round. Ole Miss is among Lunardi’s “Last Four In” as a No. 11 seed in the First Four play-in games.

Bracketville: No. 6 seed

Bracketville also likes a potential second-round Kentucky vs. Duke matchup. The winner could face No. 2 seed Kansas in the Sweet 16. Ole Miss is among the “Last Four In.” Kentucky is No. 24 on Bracketville’s seed line behind Florida Atlantic and ahead of Texas Tech.

CBS Sports: No. 7 seed

Kentucky was a No. 7 seed in Jerry Palm’s update yesterday. This hypothetical draw puts the Cats in Indianapolis for the first and second rounds, which feels a little too good to be true, even if they face Indiana State in the opening game. Ole Miss is a No. 10 seed.

Field of 68: No. 7 seed

The Field of 68 crew is also doing Bracketology now. The Cats are a No. 7 seed in last night’s update, facing No. 10 seed Boise State. A date with No. 2 seed Marquette waits in the second round.

Mike DeCourcy: No. 7 seed

In his latest bracket for Fox Sports, Mike DeCourcy also pairs Kentucky, Boise State, and Marquette together. His path put the Cats in the South Region.

Andy Katz: No. 7 seed

Andy Katz draws up the brackets for the NCAA’s official March Madness account/site. Today’s has Kentucky as a No. 7 seed playing Nebraska in the opening game and potentially North Carolina in the second round. Also in the East Region: No. 1 seed UConn, No. 4 seed South Carolina, and No. 3 seed Baylor. Ole Miss is there too, as the No. 11 seed.

USA Today: No. 8 seed

USA Today’s trio of Paul Myerberg, Erick Smith, and Eddie Timanus are the lowest on the Cats among the national media. Kentucky is a No. 8 seed in their update, facing No. 9 seed Texas in the first round and potentially defending national champion UConn in the second round in Brooklyn. That’s all to get to the Sweet 16, where you could face No. 4 seed Duke or No. 5 seed Wisconsin.

Ole Miss is the first team among the “Last Four In,” playing Nevada in the No. 11 seed First Four game.
