The PGA Tour is in Central Kentucky for its Barbasol Championship out at Nicholasville’s Champions at Keene Trace Golf Club. Later this week, a field of 156 golfers will tee off in a four-day event with $660,000 and 300 FedEx Cup points up for grabs to the winner. This year’s champion will also receive the final invitation to next week’s Open, a new twist to the Barbasol Championship format.

But first, the week’s festivities began with several lead-up events to the tournament, including Tuesday’s fourth annual Kentucky Children’s Hospital Mini Pro-Am. This year, Kroger Field played host as patients from the Kentucky Children’s Hospital and some of their closest friends and family played a nine-hole mini-golf course with PGA Tour and DP World Tour golfers. Several of Kentucky’s student-athletes helped out around the course, too. Among them were cheerleaders, gymnasts, Scratch the mascot, and Kentucky Football’s Dane Key and John Young.

Kentucky Children’s Hospital is one of the benefiting charities from the Barbasol Championship’s charitable arm, Caddie127.
