Before he can make his way to the United States, Kentucky commit Andrija Jelavic has to finish up his professional season overseas.

Jelavic and his Serbian-based club Mega Basket just wrapped up their penultimate regular season game on Monday, an 83-81 win over Derby. The 6-foot-10 stretch forward had himself an impressive overall performance in the victory, posting 15 points on 5-9 shooting (1-4 3PT), seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 32 minutes of action. He produced multiple highlight plays in transition and hit a timely three-pointer with under two minutes left that broke a tie and put Mega Basket in front for good.

Up next for Jelavic is the regular season finale set for Friday, May 2, against Partizan. He’ll then prepare for the postseason, which begins the following week on Friday, May 9. If Mega Basket makes it to the final round of the playoffs, Jelavic will be playing into mid-June. College players typically make it to campus in early to mid-June for summer workouts.

Through 26 games played this season in the Adriatic (ABA) League, Jelavic, who turns 21 in May, has posted per-game averages of 11 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and one steal in 27.4 minutes per contest. He’s shooting 50 percent from the field, 32 percent from deep, and 68 percent from the free throw line. His best performance thus far was a 23-point, 14-rebound outing against Partizan in January.

“[His greatest strengths] are his size, finishing, handling, and rebounding,” Arman Jovic, a scout with PDT Scoutingrecently told KSR+. “He can do a lot in the offense. He can play into that Andrew Carr role as a multi-positional stretch big.”

Jelavic is still somewhat of an unknown as an international prospect playing in a mid-level league, but he sure looks good on film against grown men. He’s going to have a real role in his freshman season at Kentucky.

If you want to follow Jelavic on his final journey before making his way to Lexington, you’re in luck! The Adriatic League posts full replays of every game on its YouTube channel. You can watch Jelavic’s most recent game against Derby below.
