Kentucky cracks top 10 for highly-rated shooting guard Joson Sanon
Joson Sanon is one of the more talented high school hoopers in the entire northeast. Earlier this week, he included Kentucky in his list of top schools.
On Tuesday, On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Sanon has cut his options down to a final 10. Along with Kentucky, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Rockingham (VT) Vermont Academy also included Arizona, Boston College, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Providence, and Overtime Elite. He currently does not have any future official visits scheduled.
Sanon is considered the No. 11 prospect in the class of 2025, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. At this time, he has not publicly announced a scholarship offer from Kentucky. He is considered a possible reclassification candidate for 2024.
Although the Wildcats have yet to offer Sanon, there is communication between both sides. He told On3’s Jamie Shaw one month ago that he’s “hearing a little from Kentucky and Duke” and intends to wait until his junior season is over before taking any more visits. Of note, Duke did not make his top 10.

Sanon also told Shaw that he will “probably” take official visits to both Providence (where he has already taken several unofficial visits) and Kansas. Back in late 2023, he took a trio of OVs to Oklahoma State (Oct.), Arizona (Nov.), and Indiana (Dec.). UConn and Boston College have also received unofficial visits.
“The environment around the school will be big for me,” Sanon previously told Shaw. “I am going to look closely at their play style. I like to play fast, use ball screens, and move the ball. I like how we play here at Vermont Academy.”
Kentucky has extended 10 offers to current class of 2025 members, including seven of the top eight ranked recruits. Could Sanon be next to join that group?
