Kentucky’s early signing period was filled with some surprises at wide receiver. Position coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. left for Nebraska but that did not stop the Wildcats from flipping Wisconsin commit Cameron Miller and holding off Ole Miss for Dejerrian Miller. The Wildcats ended this high school recruiting cycle with five wide receivers in the fold.

But there was another prospect who was in the class for a long-time. Ja’Kayden Ferguson committed to Kentucky on June 16, but backed off that pledge on Nov. 13. The Houston native would flip to another SEC school less than a month late.

The three-star wideout is embracing the hog.

Ja’Kayden Ferguson joined a top-30 class in Fayetteville that included 24 high school signees. The Lonestar State native will play for head coach Sam Pittman after an announcement was made that the 63-year-old would return for a sixth season to lead Razorback football. Kentucky recovered to land three players after Ferguson’s commitment but his flip was the first of three to occur the last month before the early signing period with Marquise Davis (Missouri) and Tucker Kattus (Clemson) joining the decommitment list.
