When John Calipari left Kentucky for Arkansas, five of the six class of 2024 commitments he had locked in with the Wildcats opted to reopen their recruitment. One of them, Zvonimir Ivisic, has already followed Calipari to Fayetteville. Another one could ultimately do the same, but there’s a different SEC school in the mix, as well.

According to 247Sports’ Travis Branham, four-star center Somto Cyril, who was released from his National Letter of Intent with Kentucky on April 10, is currently on an official visit to Georgia. The 6-foot-10, 240-pound big man is considered the No. 42 overall high school senior in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Georgia head coach Mike White currently has one class of 2024 commit locked in: five-star power forward Asa Newell. Could Cyril join the Bulldogs, too?

Calipari recently paid a visit to Cyril (and Karter Knox, another Kentucky decommit) at Overtime Elite in Atlanta. New Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has also reached out to Cyril since taking the job, according to Branham, as have coaches from the likes of Oklahoma State and Georgetown.

Cyril was actually the first class of 2024 commit for Calipari at Kentucky. The Nigerian native initially committed to UK in June 2023 before signing that November. But he doesn’t seem to be a lock to Arkansas by any means. All options appear to be on the table for Cyril.

Coach Pope has just two players committed to joining Kentucky for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign in former BYU signee Collin Chandler and Mr. Kentucky Basketball winner Travis Perry. That could change very soon though. Kentucky is the heavy frontrunner to land 6-foot-10 Drexel transfer Amari Williams, who has been named the CAA’s Defensive Player of the Year the previous three seasons.
