Kentucky drops out of ESPN's college football Power Rankings
Kentucky is going to see a significant drop in its national ranking once those are announced later on Sunday.
Following the completion of Saturday’s Week 6 slate of college football games, ESPN updated its Power Rankings. Unfortunately, the Wildcats plummeted coming off the disappointing 24-14 home loss to South Carolina. Kentucky went from No. 12 in ESPN’s Power Rankings heading into this weekend to falling out of the Top 25 Power Rankings entirely.

Now riding a two-game losing streak, Kentucky is losing all of the momenta it built with the 4-0 start. UK also dropped 12 spots in ESPN’s updated Football Power Index, falling to No. 36. In general, the advanced statistics aren’t being too kind to the Wildcats. Kentucky’s projected win-loss total according to the FPI is now 6.7-5.3 after hovering around 8.0-4.0 for the majority of the 2022 season. The ‘Cats still have an 88.3 percent chance to meet the six-win threshold, but the odds of winning the SEC East have cratered to just 0.3 percent.
Kentucky entered Saturday’s game ranked No. 13 by both the AP and Coaches Polls. Don’t be shocked if the ‘Cats fall out of both polls completely by the end of the day.
