Kentucky DT Isaiah Gibson enters the transfer portal
Another signee from Kentucky’s 2019 recruiting class has entered the transfer portal, this time in sophomore defensive end Isaiah Gibson.
Gibson, a former three-star prospect out of Springfield, Ohio, officially entered the portal on Thursday. Rivals.com was the first to report the news.
The 6-foot-3, 302-pound lineman totaled nine tackles, 0.5 TFL and one QBH in two years at Kentucky, including four tackles this past season. He redshirted in 2019 after coming in as a mid-year enrollee.
The former three-star prospect was one of the nation’s top-50 defensive tackles and one of the top 33 players in Ohio by all major recruiting services. He chose the Wildcats over Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.

Gibson is now the eleventh player from Kentucky’s 2019 recruiting class to enter the portal, joining Jared Casey, Travis Tisdale, MJ Devonshire, Shawnkel Knight-Goff, Nikolas Ognenovic, Cavon Butler, Tra Wilkins, Amani Gilmore, Nik Scalzo, and Jake Pope.
Of that class, only JJ Weaver, Moses Douglass, KD McDaniel, Taj Dodson, Tae Tae Crumes, Marquez Bembry, Quandre Mosely, Jalen Geiger, DeMarcus Harris, and Eli Cox remain.
Best of luck to Isaiah as he continues his football journey elsewhere.
