Kentucky earns dream path in latest 2022 ESPN Bracketology
Kentucky’s dominant win over Kansas in Lawrence earned the Wildcats a No. 2 seed in the latest 2022 NCAA Tournament Bracketology over at ESPN. To take it a step further, though, UK’s draw in the latest update is a dream scenario for those hoping to see the Wildcats make a run to the Final Four.
A No. 2 seed in the South Region, Kentucky is second in the SEC, behind only Auburn (No. 1 seed, Midwest). The SEC has seven total selections, tied for first among all conferences with the Big 12, Big Ten and Big East.
Auburn (Midwest), Gonzaga (West), Purdue (East) and Baylor (South) make up the No. 1 seeds, while Kansas (Midwest), UCLA (West), Duke (East) and Kentucky (South) make up the No. 2 seeds.

In Kentucky’s bracket, the Wildcats would take on No. 15 Appalachian State in the first round in Indianapolis, followed by a potential matchup with No. 7 Iowa State. From there, UK would head to San Antonio to potentially take on No. 3 Arizona in the Sweet 16 and No. 1 Baylor in the Elite Eight in hopes of punching a ticket to the Final Four in New Orleans.
Auburn and Kentucky sit atop the SEC in seeding as No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively, followed by Tennessee (No. 4, East), Alabama (No. 5, South), LSU (No. 6, West), Arkansas (No. 9, West) and Florida (No. 12, Midwest).
